first of all: what does it mean to be asexual?

to be asexual means to identify yourself with any of the labels/microlabels under the asexual spectrum.

what asexuality is: a wide, broad spectrum.

what it isn't: a single term that only stands for people who do not feel sexual attraction towards anyone. there are people who are completely, 100% asexual but most people who call themselves asexual identify with one of the labels below:

demisexual

to be demisexual means to only be able to experience sexual attraction towards someone you already have an emotional bond with

graysexual

to be graysexual means to be able to experience sexual attraction very rarely or under very specific circumstances

fraysexual

to be fraysexual means only to be able to experience sexual attraction towards someone you just met or people you dont know very well (it fades overtime)

aceflux

to be aceflux means to be somewhere on the spectrum- the difference is that your asexual identity is fluid.

NOTE: some aceflux people may feel 100% asexual one day and 100% allosexual the other

reciprosexual

to be reciposexual means to only experience sexual attraction towards someone when you know the other person feels the same way

akoisexual

to be akoisexual means to experience sexual attraction but not want the other person to feel the same way.

NOTE: some akoisexual people might even lose sexual attraction completely when the other person reciprocates their feelings
AKOISEXUALITY CAN ALSO BE CALLED LITHSEXUALITY

OTHER :

cupiosexual

to be cupiosexual means to not experience sexual attraction but still desire a sexual relationship

apothisexual

to be apothisexual means to not experience sexual attraction while also being sex repulsed

aegosexual

ALSO:

sex repulsed =/= sex averse
sex repulsed = completely disinterested in sex and disgusted by the idea of it
sex averse = comfortable with seeing or hearing about sexual stuff but not wanting to participate in it

sex favourable =/= sex positive
sex favourable = seeking out sex, wanting it
sex positive = may or may not enjoy having sex, thinks of sex as something positive, isn't disgusted by it
